deconstructed cities

You’re probably all way ahead of me, but I have only just discovered the work of Armelle Caron (thanks to an item in the June issue of Significance). Caron takes maps of cities, breaks them up into individual blocks, and then lines up all the pieces. Just like this. Don’t they remind you of the work of Sue Lawty? And doesn’t it make you want to read meaning into the patterns, somehow? No idea if there is any, but the way the cities differ seems to suggest that there should be.
