a finished thing!

You’ll have forgotten by now that I was working on that project for the CW Double Weave Study Group. I had almost forgotten it myself. But I can report that my bag is now finished and — astonishingly — looks exactly as I had imagined it. The construction process worked pretty much as I had hoped for too, allowing for my clumsy fingers. I’ve taken an odd assortment of pictures and need to get them organised for reporting to the study group. In the meantime, here are a couple of close-ups of the final creation.

I must say I am more excited about the fingerlooped cord than I am about the cloth! Each length (there are two separate cords) took a whole feature film to make (my standard unit of time for hand finishing tasks) and I am really pleased that they came out so even.

I also count “episodes watched” or “movies viewed” as a way to figure out time spent. It’s very useful! Love the silver/gray and blue together.

Nice bag, nice cord! “Finished” is always such a satisfying word, isn’t it?

BTW, your book went to the Post Office today, c/o your Dad. I’ll paypal you in a separate email.

You planned it and it turns out as you planned it. That’s good, isn’t it? I like it a lot! But what is on the loom right now looks interesting too!
