I learned today that my silk bag has been accepted for the Association’s National Exhibition in July. Judging from the photos of accepted entries now appearing in the Online Guild forum, it will be keeping company with some really stunning work. I had my usual photographic trauma trying to get images suitable for submission, and this is an area I still need to work on*. Packaging and mailing should be straightforward enough though, as England is not yet a foreign country.
I’m sorry that I won’t be able to see the exhibition myself, but I’m already committed to too much travelling. I am going to London twice in the next two weeks, which is a bit bonkers but for very good reasons — a Complex Weavers study day with Jennifer Moore and, a week later, our quarterly Journal meeting — but with all the extra trips we’ve had to make lately I could happily pull up the drawbridge and not go anywhere at all!
*A bonus to being involved with the Perthshire Open Studios is that I’ve met a couple of photographers who — besides taking lovely pictures — run classes in photographing art work, so that’s now on my to-do list.
