New weavers

I am absolutely amazed by what happens when you put someone in charge of a loom for the first time. Yesterday’s new weavers certainly made me feel that I could shake up my ideas a bit!

Viv decided to play with colour, and came up with this zingy clasped weft:

Rhea also used clasped weft, arranging it to frame her sampler:

Lauren focused on structure, setting panels of different weaves between bands of hopsack:

Kate wove two very different pieces: one symmetrical colour study…

…and one wild and woolly yarn explosion.

Alas today the looms are quiet and we turned the studio over to more scarf photography – but I forgot to take their measurements so I can’t actually add them to the shop. Overloaded brain.
