Weft colours

I wove a few metres with the wefts shown in my earlier post, then tried a bit of orange… orange-grey-weft.jpg …and finally a bit of blue, keeping the grey throughout. blue-grey-weft I love all these combinations, but it is time for a new warp. And, amazingly, the website move is accomplished with almost no effort on my part. I’m a very happy customer so far – here’s hoping that the hosting turns out to be as reliable as it is welcoming.

Love the weaving! These are the Rennie yarns?

Yes, they are. It’s all 2/11 so pretty thick – only 20 epi for 4CDW!

It was the orange that stopped me (mid-surf). I love the pattern.

Just gorgeous!!! Would you please advise where I might find this pattern/draft??

      Hi Jeffrey
Glad you like it! This particular draft is one I developed myself and have not published, as I am still producing this work for sale. However, the structure is four colour double weave, which has lots of potential for exciting weaving. I had the opportunity of attending a class with Bonnie Inouye, which I would recommend if you have the chance! If not, though, a recent book which covers this and related weave structures is Weaving with Echo & Iris by Marian Stubenitsky, and there is enough inspiration in there to keep you weaving for years 🙂

Hello! I love your work! what kind of looms? squared?

    • Cally
      |

Thank you! My loom is a 16 shaft Louet Megado like this. In the top photo on this post the end of the dobby chain is just visible in the top right corner – my loom has a mechanical dobby and not an electronic one.

Not yet! I’m incorporating some of the design approaches into the online course materials I am developing, though 😉
